Malachite gives this project its visual language: layered, vivid and instantly recognizable. The rock is our symbol. The connection to Arc is where the story gets interesting.
The real machinery
behind the metaphor.
Arc uses Malachite for consensus: the process that lets validators agree on blocks.
Written in Rust, Malachite implements Tendermint BFT consensus. Arc pairs this consensus layer with an execution layer based on Reth. The software helps the network reach agreement; Reth executes the transactions.
The Malachite team from Informal Systems joined Circle to help build Arc. That engineering story is the inspiration for this community project.
